An MVP for a Nigerian insurance brokerage: customer self-service portal, admin back office, and an AI-assisted quote engine that runs blind competitive quoting — insurers respond through isolated links and submissions are scored on premium, settlement rate, and turnaround.
A crowd-sourced Q&A platform for meetups — attendees post questions ahead of time and upvote the ones that matter, so organizers answer what the room actually cares about. REST API in Node.js with PostgreSQL.

About
The short version
I'm Samuel — a Sr. Software Engineer based in Lagos with 5+ years building scalable, high-performance software for the fintech and insurance sectors, including Sterling Bank, Coronation Insurance, Trium, and FBN Lab. I've shipped RESTful APIs for digital lending, claims, payments, and procurement — and led code reviews and mentoring as Deputy Team Lead for digital lending at Sterling Bank.
Alongside the engineering, I've spent years in technical presales and enterprise delivery, sitting with decision-makers to shape solutions before a line of code is written. Most projects don't fail in the code — they fail in the gap between what was promised and what was scoped. I work in that gap: nothing gets lost in translation between the commercial conversation and the build.
In 2026 I founded Emberquill Solutions to formalize that way of working — senior-led engagements where the person who scoped your project is the person delivering it. I hold the AZ-900 Microsoft Azure Fundamentals certification and a BSc in Computer Science from Ajayi Crowther University.
